About Fort Myers Beach

It is hard to imagine Fort Myers Beach as a remote island accessible only by boat, but that is how it all began until a bridge was constructed to bring tourists and locals to what is known as Estero Island. This beach community draws thousands of visitors from around the United States as well as places like United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, Austria, Canada, etc. Boating, fishing, and spectacular Lovers Key State Park, make the island a recreational playground. Restaurants serving fresh seafood from the Gulf of Mexico add to the charm as well as the shopping and nightlife found in the Times Square area. If you are a fan of Author Randy White, and even if your are not, you need to have lunch or dinner at Doc Ford's Bar and Grill on the Back Bay by the Matanzas Pass Bridge. However, the best activity of all is watching the beautiful sunsets, which one never tires of, no matter how many times you come to the beach.
